Fireside chat and Q&A

Billy’s background is on the product side of the spectrum. Prior to joining Draper Associates, he founded Mobber, a social referral platform that allowed several users to tweet a message simultaneously (eventually kicked off Twitter API, something of a badge of honor). He then went on to work at Facebook and Apartment List.

Understand Your MVP Using the Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) Framework or learn How to launch over the weekend

I don't like having ideas stuck in my head so I find ways to get them out into the open as quickly as possible. I help others find the core job that their idea is trying to get hired for and then propose solutions that allow them to test it.

CASE STUDIES OF THE TOP SECURITY STARTUP CHALLENGE STARTUPS

WE HAVE WORKED WITH THOUSANDS OF STARTUPS TO DATE

During the program we were able to launch our first public beta version after almost two years of development and internal testing. We benefited from the know-how and first hand experience offered by the mentors: their knowledge enabled us to work effectively with our beta testers, monitor and measure the performance of our product and work on constantly improving our offering in measurable ways.

Ivan Klimek, Excalibur, Slovakia, 1st place
When SSC started we had just started our company - all we had was an initial prototype and some rough ideas about potential business models. Over the course of two bootcamps and multiple online sessions, SSC helped us quickly iterate through customer development cycles, flesh out our business model, identify key product improvements, double our number of qualified leads, receive technical feedback from leading security experts, and begin pilots with major enterprise customers.
MacLane Scott Wilkison, ZeroDB, SF Bay Area, 3rd place
Since the start of SSC, we’ve redeveloped our offering with completely fresh code. We released an early beta in July, and have collected 1,200 beta sign-ups. We’re also developing a special new feature to be showcased at the final round at MIT. Overall, the program has led to us changing our product development strategy, releasing the service more quickly whilst building new features. We’re also constantly measuring user behavior, and adapting our offering in real-time in response to what we learn.
Simon Hossell, Pipe, Germany, 2nd place
From the outset, SSC set the bar very high, which gave us a lot to live up to! We now expect DriveWare to exceed the goals set for us as well as our own expectations. The program has enabled us to make our product more appealing than ever to investors: we’ve revised our product roadmap and value proposition, accelerated our time-to-market by reducing features, created an in-depth business development plan and refined our focus, resulting in commitments from strategic investors.
Haggai Yedidya, Cyber DriveWare, Israel, 3rd place
